Before I get to today’s post, I wanted to announce the winner of Lorie Newman’s book. Thanks for all the comments. It blessed me and Lorie! Congratulations to Cissy K who posted on 10/19 at 4:29 p.m. You were selected in a random number selection and I’ve sent you a personal email.
Now for some thoughts about Christmas:
I’m not the best gift giver in the world. It’s not that I don’t love you to pieces, but I just don’t know what to get you for Christmas. I can walk around the mall for hours and leave with a calendar … for me. It’s that bad.
But a few years ago, I started being more intentional in my gift giving. And I created a form to help me keep track of the gifts I’ve bought. Ladies, there’s just something about filling in an item on a form (or checking something off a to-do list) that gets my blood pumping. Somehow, this form got me motivated to plan ahead.
So I wanted to share it with you today.
Here’s a link to get a PDF with the spaces blank. Christmas gift list blank
I print out enough sheets so that everyone has a box, and then I keep this in a binder where curious eyes can’t see it.
This gives me a place to note ideas, as well as record gifts once they are made or purchased. I also keep track of how much I’ve spent on each person, so one person isn’t sitting with a book in their hand while another opens an X-box. Well, I’m not THAT bad.
I hope this sparks some ideas for your own Christmas giving planning. If you’ve got a system that works for you, I’d love to hear it.
In His love,
